![It's been a longtime dream of mine to write about my Guamanian CHamoru heritage in some way, and I'm proud to share that I finally got the chance to do it in @saveurmag! Three new food-centered pieces are linked in my bio, which I hope you'll give a read.
In addition to delving into the history of chicken kelaguen, one of my favorite CHamoru dishes growing up, I had the privilege of interviewing the co-owners of San Francisco's lauded @prubechusf, Chef Shawn Naputi and his business partner, Shawn Camacho. Not only are they inspiring food community leaders, they also proudly celebrate and elevate Guamanian CHamoru cuisine, which is vastly underrepresented in the culinary landscape. (If you're ever in SF, be sure to stop by Prubechu so they can feed you!) Their passion is palpable and I can't wait to see where they take CHamoru cuisine next.
